Being an overseas worker sometimes means living in an assigned accommodation for the duration of your time in Bahrain. Be it a shared room or a private apartment, there are a number of things you can do that can make it feel more like home. Of course, before you do annoying drastic to the area, make sure that your employer is okay with you making changes to the house.
1. Photos:
There’s nothing that makes a place feel more like your home than photos! You can use different types of table frames and even hang them up on the wall for a little piece of home.
2. Paint:
Can you paint the area? If this is okay, choose a color that you feel speaks more to you than the white or plain wall color you already have. If you don’t want to paint the entire room, then think of one wall that you can decorate with paint or even paint a different color.
3. Furniture:
We’re usually stuck with whatever furniture that’s already in the accommodation, but you can always move in one or two pieces, space permitting. This could be a chair, a desk or even a closet.
4. Your Bed:
After a long day, we all love relaxing on a comfortable bed. Think about adding pillows, cushions and even a throw or blanket. Not only will it make it more comfortable, but you’ll also add an element of deign to the space as well.
5.Accessories:
We always stress about the importance of accessorizing, and it’s no different here. Choose your pieces carefully and add them to the areas which you feel could use a little extra attention. This could be anything from mirrors, rugs, etc…
6. Curtains:
If you’re able to add or change the current curtains in the room, then go for it! But move away from plain curtains; think patterns or different fabrics for an instant style upgrade!
7. Plants:
Our go to item for any style tip! Plants are a great addition to any home, and plus, they’re also good for any living space, mainly because they purify the air you’re breathing.
