What is Eid Al Fitir?
Literally translating to ‘festival of fast breaking’ it is a three day holiday celebrated in most Muslim countries around the world. Eid starts when the new moon is sighted. Traditionally, most those celebrating will begin with an early day prayer, and then continue with visiting relatives and friends, as well as enjoying a hearty meal! People are usually dressed in their traditional clothes, and children specifically enjoy this time, as most people give them money and gifts!
