Behind the glitz and glamour of Bahrain’s impressive skyline and tall skyscrapers, lies a few parks that will make any country green with envy. And with spring right around the corner, here;s a round up of some of Bahrain’s best parks.
Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park
Located in Al Hidd, this park is fully lit up in the veining, and is also fully equipped with a children’s playground, a bicycle track and a walkway. There is also a small lake with an observation tower that offers a panoramic view of the Gulf and the surrounding area.
Arad Bay Protected Area and Park
Another popular park, which is located in Al Muharraq. It includes all the trimmings; playgrounds, walkways and a restaurant, as well as a long stretch by the sea that’s perfect for a little bit of exercise. In addition to fantastic views, it’s also very kid friendly. Not only is it a park, but it is also a natural reserve.
Khalifa Al Kubra Garden
One of Bahrain’s busiest parks, it is home to hundreds of visitors every day. The garden consists of 26,000 square meters of green landscape and trees, in addition to 3,000 square meters of playgrounds, making it perfect for a day out!
Great for running and playing sports, Andalus Garden Park has a volleyball court, a basketball court and a walkway. It is also centrally located in Manama, making it easy to access from just about anywhere in the country.
Budaiya Botanical Garden
If you’re looking for greenery, then this is the place to go! The park is split into four areas, all filled with trees, aromatic plants, wild plants and flowers, as well as a picnic area. The Budaiya Botanical Garden is also home to the annual outdoor farmers’ market
