Splurge vs Save: Home Décor

This article was published on February 25th, 2019

Everyone has a budget when it comes to home décor, and no matter how large or small it is, there will always be items that you should splurge or save on. Here are our top picks:

Splurge: Mattress:

Finding the perfect mattress is very important for a good night’s sleep. This probably means you’ll end up paying a bit more money to find that perfect one, but trust us, it will be worth your while.

Save: Seasonal items:
Items for Christmas, Easter, Ramadan or Eid are used for a few weeks tops each year. If you store them correctly, you’ll be able to reuse them for a few years, and you don’t have to spend much when buying them in the first place.

Splurge: A couch:

Let’s admit it – no one will enjoy sitting on an uncomfortable couch. As the second most used item at home, finding a comfortable couch is worth the investment. Also remember to choose one with neutral colors; this way, should you ever move, the couch can move with you.

Save: Bedding:
There is never a shortage of offers when it comes to sheets and bedding, so you don’t have to splurge much on your sheets. Plus, the wear and tear factor of washing them regularly also means you have to replace them constantly.

Splurge: Vacuum:

There is nothing like a good quality vacuum that will make cleaning around the house so much easier! Not only that, but investing in a vacuum most likely means that it will last longer.

Save: Trendy Accessories:
There is always a new trend popping up every now and then, and while we love adding a trendy accessory to the house, we advise not to spend too much money on these items. Most likely, you’ll end up replacing them in a few months.

Splurge: A tool set:

If you’re fixing something at home, or are into DIY projects, you’ll be needing a good wealthy tool set which you should invest in. It’s actually a very important item to have at home.

Save: Art
Saving on art doesn’t mean having plain walls. There are a number of things you can do to decorate your walls. You can use wallpaper or try painting the area yourself. Because unless you’re actually investing in authentic art, you can save on wall art.
