Deep cleaning: one of those things that we all hate to do, but are forced to! Here’s what you should remember when deep cleaning your home.
1. Make a Plan:
Depending on how significant the work is, break down to days/time of day. Most of us get tired easily when it comes to cleaning, so make sure you have a plan and section it off by days to make it easier for you.
2. Start with the Mattress:
Have you been flipping your mattress and airing it out? Ensure that you add that to your list of chores. Insider tip: use a vapor steamer, or add baking soda on the mattress to get rid of bacteria.
3. Clean Appliances:
Although these technically do not have to wait for deep cleaning, but make sure you clean your fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
4. Look Up:
Make sure you look at the top of everything, cabinets, closets, windows… these hard-to-reach areas are usually ignored because we can’t see them, but make sure you add them to your cleaning schedule.
5. Don’t’ Use Chemicals:
Using chemicals that are too strong will not only harm your health, but it will also destroy your furniture and floors as well.
6. Tidy up the Place:
What’s the point of deep cleaning if everything is a mess? Make sure that you put everything away before starting, for optimal results.
7. Don’t Forget About Outside:
Outdoor areas are just as important as the indoor ones, so make sure you clean out that patio, garden or garage! And that includes the grill!
