There’s been a lot going on in Bahrain in the past few years, and the country will continue to expand and develop as one of the major players in the region. Here is a roundup of some of the biggest projects currently taking place or coming up soon.
1. Bahrain International Airport Expansion:
As the country aims to increase the number of passengers, the Bahrain International Airport will witness an expansion project with an estimated cost of 1.1 billion USD, and will include a brand new terminal and service buildings among others.
2. King Hamad Causeway:
Connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, the bridge stretches over 25 kilometers, and is expected to be completed by 2025, and will run parallel to the existing King Fahd Causeway.
3. Al Sidra:
As part of the Marassi Al Bahrain project and one of the newest residential areas in the country, it will include over 400 villas that range in design and size, ranging from two to five bedroom villas.
4. The Avenues:
A waterfront shopping center, the Avenues is spread out on over 200,000 square meters, and will feature a number of playgrounds, jogging tracks and fitness centers, restaurants, cafes and more. Also planned is a huge garden, a boulevard and public parks.
5. Villamar at the Harbour:
A residential units project in in the Bahrain Financial Harbor, it includes three high rise towers that also offer facilities such as health clubs, spas, swimming pools, cafes, restaurants and more.
