Qalali village is one of the villages of Muharraq Governorate in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It is located in the north to the northeast of Muharraq city near Samaheej and until recently was the highest land point in Bahrain. Qalali is the singular of Qala or (Kalla) in colloquial language and it refers to a high place like a plateau. The population of Qalali until the end of 1991 AD was estimated at about 2005 people. In the past, the village was inhabited by the original sailors and in the past it was known for its beautiful sea which was a source of livelihood for many of the people of the region, but the profession of sailors in Qalali village has disappeared.
